Primary and Secondary

Dacorum has a variety of schools to support the educational needs of the population including over 50 primary schools, 9 main secondary schools and a number of junior and special schools. Berkhamsted operates a three-tier school system comprising of first, middle and upper schools. The borough also boasts numerous independent establishments to choose from including a specialist Rudolf Steiner School.

Higher and Further Education

The majority of secondary schools offer sixth form facilities for students to stay on after their GCSEs. West Herts College and Dacorum College offer A-levels and alternative qualifications. Ashridge Business School offers various further education opportunities and was recently ranked the number one business school in the UK by the Financial Times. The University of Hertfordshire is Dacorum's local university; The Guardian endorsed that "The University of Hertfordshire is recognised for its excellent teaching, research and focus on employability".
