Dacorum's Den is a business grant scheme whereby businesses in Dacorum can apply for up to £1,000 to grow and develop. All Dacorum based businesses are eligible, provided they have fewer than 20 employees and a turnover of less than £1 million per annum. This scheme mirrors the format of the TV show Dragon's Den and is an extremely exciting and effective campaign to give small businesses the helping hand they need to really develop.
Dacorum's Den is all part of supporting our business community and smaller businesses in particular. We want all businesses in the area to flourish and grow, which is the ethos of the Maylands Business Centre. For this reason, all of our Dacorum's Den events will be held at this venue.

This year's events will take place as follows:
Friday 29 April - Dacorum's Den Launch Event
Friday 8 July   -  Judging Day
Friday 9 September - Awards Lunch

“Dacorum’s Den has been a highlight of my year ever since I was kindly invited to take part. This is a great initiative which shows that Dacorum is serious about supporting new and fledgling businesses. Every year I am very impressed by the range of businesses seeking investment grants and the enterprising projects that they are undertaking. I’m very much looking forward to it!”

"Nine years ago we started with 3 serviced apartments and now we have 20 luxury flats all in the same location in Hemel Hempstead. Our flats are really popular with business and leisure guests and our portfolio is growing.  We are delighted to sponsor this innovative scheme to support the growth and development of small businesses in our area. We have a wonderful network and community here and Hemel Hempstead is truly a great place to do business." - Martin Fieldman, Managing Director

Lumiere Developments

Lumiere Developments are proud to be sponsoring Dacorum’s Den once more.  Last year’s event showcased a broad spectrum of businesses who all demonstrated great passion and entrepreneurial spirit that was wonderful to see.  Dacorum’s Den provides a fantastic platform for businesses to demonstrate their growth plans and how they will benefit from the funding.  On a personal note, it was very satisfying to providing support and guidance to some of last year’s entrants and I would welcome the opportunity to do so again this year.

Lumiere are keen to help support local businesses, charities and clubs across Dacorum and to promote Hemel Hempstead as a great place to live, work and enjoy. - Ambi Singh, Manging Director
