Inward investment into Hemel Hempstead and the surrounding area is at an all-time high, showing strong investor confidence. Prologis have a planning application for the Prologis Park development on the Maylands gateway. The proposals will deliver new distribution warehouses and investment in the local road infrastructure. The scheme will secure over £80 million of private sector investment and when fully delivered will support around 750-1,000 jobs in the manufacturing and logistics sectors.
Additionally there have been offers for land of over 600,000 square foot on Maylands, including the 150,000+ sq ft Aviva Retail Scheme being given planning approval on Maylands Avenue. Smith’s Detection have renovated their 65,000 square ft premises on Maylands Avenue, bringing 300 high quality jobs to the area, and we’ve seen additional redevelopment of140,000 sq ft of class A offices at Diamond Point on Maylands and the £10 million redevelopment and upgrade of Westside, Apsley.
